Died the eldest son of Grand Duchess Kira Kirillovna Prince Frederick
On September 29, 2015 in Berlin (Germany) 77 year of life due to a long illness died the Head of the Royal House of Prussia, Prince Georg Fredrich Wilhelm of Prussia.
Prince Frederick William was born on February 10, 1939, he was the eldest son of Prince Louis Ferdinand of Prussia, (1907-1994) (grandson of the Emperor of Germany Wilhelm II) and his wife Grand Duchess Kira Kirillovna (1909-1967), the youngest daughter of Emperor Kirill Vladimirovich.
In 1967, Prince Friedrich Wilhelm of Prussia signed the first morganatic marriage with Waltraud Freytag (1940-2010), and therefore was forced to renounce his rights to the throne of the Prussian Kingdom and the dignity of the future head of the Royal House of Prussia, from this marriage 1968 born son – Prince Philip Kirill of Prussia, but the marriage ended in divorce in 1971. In 1976, Prince Friedrich Wilhelm of Prussia entered into a second marriage with a morganatic Erengardoy von Reden (RV 1943), from this marriage in 1979 was born the second son – Prince Frederick William of Prussia Junior Princess Victoria Louise of Prussia (RV 1982) and Prince Joachim Albrecht of Prussia (RV 1984). But the second marriage of the late Prince Frederick William of Prussia broke up in 2004. In March of that 2004 Prince Frederick William of Prussia became the third morganatic marriage with Sybil Kretschmer (RV 1952), in this marriage no children .
None of the descendants of Prince Frederick William of Prussia has no rights nor Prussian King, nor to the Russian imperial throne, in connection with the origin of a morganatic marriage.
In recent years, the life of Prince Frederick William of Prussia was fond of research into the history of the House of Hohenzollern, and even published a book dedicated to King Frederick II the Great. He had a doctorate in history.
The funeral of Prince Frederick William of Prussia will be held in Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church in Berlin, October 9th, 2015
