Luxury Italian castle with extraordinary mosaics is for sale

Unusual Italian castle, which dates back to the beginning of the XVII century, Sammetsano, is located near Florence. Since 1990 it is uninhabited, although earlier it was a luxury hotel. Plans to restore it recently came to nothing lead, and the owners of the joint Italian-British company put the castle up for sale.
The castle is famous not only for its size, although it 365 rooms. There is a white room, peacocks, lilies, stalactites, Spanish bowls, lounge lovers. The main attraction, which will become the property of the new owners – a unique mosaic that covers the room of Sammetsano. Mosaics cover the walls in the XIX century and is associated with extravagant (at the time) taste of the owner, the famous Italian aristocrats, or even one of them. Historians point to Ferdinando Panchiatiki d’Aragona Ximenez, who was born in 1813, who was both the customer and the architect.
The mosaic figures traced interlacing of cultures. It is the Middle East and ornament, Gothic and medieval Indian themes and colors.
Another feature is the different nature of the mosaic. Covering most of the rooms completely, several rooms are “empty”. Aware of the scale of the work is done, you realize that not one generation of masters and owners of the castle mosaic was replaced before it was made this colossal work.
Most of all, this castle is suitable for the museum. It is a living museum of art of the Enlightenment. However, the Italian authorities are not interested in such an expensive purchase. Moreover, the unfortunate removal of Florence transport creates inconvenience for those who want to visit this place. It should also be noted that the lock has already put up for sale twice previously.
