Delegation of Imperial Throne on official visit in Antigua and Barbuda
The Archchancellor of the Imperial Throne Anton Bakov together with the Minister of economics of the Imperial Throne Kirill Zhesterov have arrivet to Antigua and Barbuda. This twin-island country of the Carribean is one of the most perspective ones from the point of view of economic collaboration and the development of political contacts with country’s government.
During the meeting, a wide range of questions are to be discussed, concerning the development of reciprocal economic and political relations. The Imperial Throne and Antigua and Barbuda are monarchies, which brings the two countries together. The Archchancellor Anton Bakov will present to the Governor General of Antigua and Barbudo the project of an intergovernmental memorandum. The Minister of economics Zhesterov together with his Antiguan counterpart will discuss the points of mutual interest and possible mutual economic projects.
The Delegation of the Imperial Throne has already arrived to St John’s. The official meetings are to take part shortly.
As is well-known, the Head of State of Antigua and Barbuda is Queen Elizabeth II, and the political system is called Parliamentary Democracy under Constitutional Monarchy. In Antigua and Barbuda a so-called Westminster model is applied, which is charectirised by a particular way of dividing the interaction between authorities. Queen Elizabeth II appoints a Governor General, who executes representative functions. In 2007 Dame Louise Agnetha Lake-Tack became the first female Governor General in the history of the country. And it is with her that Anton Bakov is going to meet.
