Elizabeth II will celebrate her 90th birthday
Today the Queen of the Great Britain Elizabeth II is celebrating her 90th birthday. However for the British this day is not a holiday, it is just usual day. Because the celebration in honor of the throne holder will take place in June.
TASS informs that nevertheless the Queen will mark the special day for the whole England by opening of the “Queen’s alley” its length is 6,3 km. This event she will visit with her husband the Duke of Edinburgh Prince Philip. While walking on this alley you can find out 63 interesting facts from the Queen’s life. It was informed that such number was chosen because Elizabeth II has been reigning for 63 years and is the longest reigning monarch in the world.
After this the Queen will make a tea-party with those who has 90th birthday at the same day. And in the evening there will be a dinner with the family. More than that on the April 22nd, the head of the royal family will have a visit from the president of the USA Barack Obama. The leader of the White house will spend two days in the United Kingdom, trying to change Englishmen’s mind to vote for the withdrawal of the country from the European Union.
Main events for celebration of the Queen’s birthday will be taking place for two months. Since 12 till 15th May there will be concerts with famous performers in Windsor Castle. On June 10th there will be a solemn service in London St. Paul Cathedral. On June 11 there will be parade on the Horse Guards Parade. And on June 12 there will be street celebrations with her Majesty participation on the Mall – the front street of imperial London.
