On the last April day the king of Sweden Carl XVI Gustav will turn 70. Organization of all anniversary events was made by the royal palace. So it was decided to mark this date with banquets, processions, salutes and concerts.
According to traditions the celebration of the king’s anniversary will start at 8 am on April 30th. 43 Swedish flags will be hoisted in the palace of Stockholm with the royal band playing in the background.
The king with his wife Queen Silvia and children: Crown Princess Victoria, Princess Madeleine and Prince Carl Philip will attend the church service at 10 am.
Probably, princess’s husbands will also attend the service to show their respect to the king. However it is still unknown if prince’s wife Sophia is going to visit the church. She gave a birth to a son recently and now she is engaged in taking care of him.
Later this morning the king Carl XVI Gustav will traditionally come out the balcony of the royal palace while the band will be playing on the square. When the monarch is greeting all the guests his children and grandchildren will have an opportunity to present him with flowers.

After this, in the evening, there will be dinner party in the royal place where all the family will come to congratulate the king with the anniversary. And at the end there will be a concert, which will be finished with the salute.
However the celebration of the birth day will take not only one day. Since 25 till 30th April there will be some anniversary events in the Stockholm which were planned for the monarch who has been ruling the country for 42 years.
We will point that 2016 became the year when the oldest monarchs celebrate their anniversaries. This year the Queen of the Great Britain Elizabeth II turned 90. In honor of such holiday as in Sweden, in the United Kingdom a lot of events have been planned. Because people love their kings and honour everything they have made for the years of their governance.
