In the Arctic people raised the sunken in 1930 ship of Roald Amundsen
The ship “Maud”, which sank about 80 years ago in Canada, was raised from the bottom of the Arctic.
The vessel is owned by the famous Norwegian explorer Roald Amundsen. The ship was built on private money and men for many years been used for various purposes.
In 1930, a ship sank off the settlement Cambridge Bay on the south coast of Victoria Canadian territory of Nunavut.
The search for the vessel, and the process of lifting it from the bottom began about 6 years ago. They lasted so long, because scientists could only work in the summer.
Vangord Yang, member of the expedition, said that the ship is well preserved due to the egg-shaped casing.
