Parliament of Venice will vote for recognition of the Crimea as a part of Russia
“Izvestia” newspaper informs that on 18 May in Venice there will be Parliament meeting held to vote for recognition of the Crimea as a part of Russia and for lifting sanctions against RF. Such information was provided by Regional Parliament Veneto to the newspaper.
The newspaper got resolution where specific causes for this decision were described. So 25 parliamentarians advocated for voting. They consider that Italy with European Union doesn’t want to recognize opinion of Crimean people and government. More than that there were few politicians who took into account historical and cultural ties of Russia and Crimea.
If the meeting is successful the President of Regional Council Veneto and the Chairman of Regional Council will start negotiations with Italian Parliament. Soon it should become a reason for Italy to be a first country which will recognize Crimea as a part of Russia and will lift sanctions against RF.
We will point that members of Italian Parliament are already talking that such voting should have been held a long ago. Deputy of Regional Parliament of Venice Stefano Valdegamberi is sure that such relation to Russia was a big mistake for Italy and caused significant losses amounting more than 1 billion euro.
