Prince William’s Itinerary in Japan to Include Tohoku Visit
Here is a look at the outline of the prince’s itinerary.
Thursday, Feb. 26: After arriving at Haneda airport, Prince William is scheduled to meet Tokyo Gov. Yoichi Masuzoe who will tour him around some of the key spots in the capital. He is also scheduled to take part in a Japanese-style tea ceremony.
Friday, Feb. 27: Prince William is set to visit a British cemetery during the morning. He will then have a luncheon with the emperor and empress before meeting with Crown Prince Naruhito. After appearing at a business conference in Tokyo, he will attend a reception held by the British Embassy.
Saturday, Feb. 28: The prince will be visiting a TV studio in Tokyo and attending an exhibition on innovation before he leaves the city for Fukushima prefecture. The Asahi Shimbun reported that Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will be the guide during the afternoon and the evening on Saturday, joining Prince William at his meeting with locals affected by the nuclear crisis. The two will enjoy some Japanese food at a local “onsen” hot spring during the night.
Sunday, March 1: Prince William is scheduled to head north from Fukushima in the morning and visit Miyagi prefecture and its cities affected by the 2011 tsunami. He will return to Tokyo afterwards and take a flight to China, his next destination.
