Pro-EU party won election in Serbia News

In Serbia parliamentary election is over, as a result seven political parties overcame the 5% barrier to enter the Parliament. Pro-EU party won election in Serbia News

This party joins the Euroskeptics and is considered to be pro-Russian, it won more than 5% and 13 deputy mandates. And the winner was coalition headed by the Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic. Besides the Prime’s coalition “Serbia is winning” formed around “Serbian Progressive Party”  and coalition “Democratic Party of Serbia – Dveri” this is coalition of specialists of current first Deputy PM and the head of Foreign Office Ivica Dacic “SPS – United Serbia” – 10,95% (29 mandates). Besides these the following parties got into the Parliament: Serbian Radical Party by Vojislav Seselj – 8,1% (22 mandates), coalition around Democratic Party – 6,02% (16 mandates), the movement “It’s enough” by former Minister of Economy Sasa Radulivic – 6,06% (16 mandates), alliance of former president Boris Tadic and liberals – 5,02% (13 mandates).

Currently relations between Russia and Serbia can be called friendly-forced. Officially there are strong historical, cultural, religious ties between the countries however the serious pragmatism is hidden under all these. So according to different estimates the goods turnover between Russia and Serbia grew in three times for the last year! We should understand that there are Serbian goods which are growing (but it can be not really Serbian goods). But unlike the Belorussia where the sale of Holland cheese followed a criticism from Moscow, there will be no such criticism for Serbia. That is why active proponent of European integration Aleksandar Vucic who won election is constantly calming that Serbia will never join the sanctions against Russia. It is unprofitable for them.

What about election, Proponents of Russia from the “Dveri” party won only 5% votes or 13 places in the Parliament. 26 mandates of Serbian Radical Party by Vojislav Seselj can be added to them. The results are evident – despite the historical and military bravado the majority Serbian citizens want live with Europe and not with Russia. Probably they want love Russia, love Vladimir Putin. But this love will be of much more importance then they have European passport in their pocket.
