Religious communities are re-registered in the Russian Ministry of Justice In Crimea
In Crimea, which became Russian in the spring of 2014 religious congregations and communities are still ongoing on re-registration, its number is more than 1000. The legal procedure was less than half of the available numbers.
This also applies to Orthodox parishes and Muslim communities, as well as Protestant and Catholic. It is worth noting that in the Crimea act as representatives of the American churches, common in the continental territory of Ukraine – Protestants: Scientologists, Baptists, evangelicals, “Jehovah’s Witnesses”.
Today, in Crimea there are more than 200 religious organizations. There are a lot of reasons why this process is so stretched out. Many priests and mullahs do not want to pay attention to the legal and bureaucratic activities. Difficulties with the availability of public services – are re-registered individuals and legal entities. However, there is another reason. Radical Islamic organization Hizb ut-Tahrir acted on the territory of Crimea before its joining toRussia, banned in Russia. It was an active propaganda among the Crimean Tatar population, including the number of sources involved in recruiting activities in ISIS. A small part of the Islamic community concerns to Hizb-ut-Tahrir.
In Crimea, both in Ukraine and in Russia since 1988 the number of believers and religious congregations have sharply increased. According to sociologists, the rise amounted to 40 times compared with the end of the XX century.
