Sergei Mironov proposed to train the Syrian military in an accelerated program
Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation and the leader of the party “Fair Russia” Sergei Mironov, who previously held the position of Chairman of the Federation Council, said about the need to accelerate training of Syrian military in Russian military schools.
Sergei Mironov explained the fact that Russia should carry out a mass supply to Syria of airplanes, helicopters and other things of the Russian defense industry. For this it is necessary to train flight composition and equipment operators.
Military experts from the words of Sergey Mironov turned out to put it mildly. They offer the leader of “Fair Russia” that it has no practical meaning, and most of all it’s similar to public relations. The idea can not be implemented for several reasons.
Firstly, the Russian military equipment can not be supplied to Syria, as there is no one to pay for it. Over the 4 years of the war, Syria almost completely destroyed the economy, emigrated and ran a huge number of the population of the territory which is under the occupation of ISIS, including major oil-producing areas of the country.
Secondly, the Syrian army needs people significantly greater than in the art. The number of ISIS militants has about 60 thousand people in it, while the Syrian army was reduced to 30 thousand people and the possibility to make up the loss of almost exhausted.
Thirdly, Syria has no time for training military specialists. For the preparation of flight crews is required at least a year, and the government don’t have this year for army due to the intensification of the fighting and heavy losses in recent years.
Finally, the Syrians during over 4 years of fighting on their land developed the most effective tactics and successfully applied it even in the huge numerical superiority fighters of ISIS and used of the latest modern NATO weapons. We can say that it is our officers in Syria need to learn modern warfare urban, and not vice versa.
Thus, the proposal of Sergei Mironov does not look quite appropriate because of the circumstances that are taking place currently in Syria.
