True or false? In Moscow, “voted” against renaming voykovskaya
The site “active citizen” Moscow authorities have summed up the results of voting for the renaming of the metro station “Voikovskaya”. It was held from 2 to 23 of November.
According to the final results for renaming voted 35% of participants, 53% – against. Another 7% were undecided, and 5% said that this issue should be solved by experts. Total participated in voting is 304 000 75.
The fact that the vote was unfair, everybody noted. On this occasion, we published a big material to pay attention. However, the mainstream media feels the need to get around this issue party and only when the vote was over stated “victory” results.
Many users have noted that the survey was carried out on the site, to put it mildly, incorrect. Vote “for” name change was technically much more difficult than “against”.
Who wins from this result? And what is the goal the organizers of this event, creating unfavorable conditions for the advance voting “for” move? In our opinion. Moscow authorities have no intention to rename. Derogatory unfair conditions of voting were necessary to evaluate the response of the people, or rather its absence. The real supporters of the old name, the Communists had to feel solidarity with the whole country. On the other hand, supporters of the monarchy and the renaming had to feel like a minority.
The metro station “Voikovskaya” in the north of Moscow was opened in 1964. It was named by the location on the surface of the former Moscow Ironworks and named in 1927 in honor of Peter Voykova. Peter Voikov – a revolutionary, best known as one of the organizers of the execution of the Russian Emperor Nicholas II and his family.
