Patriarch Kirill told about the dangers of trying to catch up with the West
Patriarch Kirill opened the XX World Russian People’s Council. There he said that attempts to catch up with the West become dangerous for Russia.
Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia urged not to impose political standards, and also to recognize the unity of all cultures.
“As history has shown, the catch-up development approach can hardly be called the national interest. In addition, the principle of catch priori implies underdevelopment if we catch up, we are always lagging behind”, – he said.
