Mikhail Fedorovich Romanov (12 [22] July 1596, Moscow – 13 [23] July 1645, Moscow) – the first Russian Tsar ,marked the beginning of the Romanov dynasty (ruled on March 27, 1613), was elected to reign Zemsky Cathedral on 21 February (March 3) 1613.

The son of a boyar Feodor Nikitich Romanov (later Patriarch of Moscow Filaret) and the boyar Xenia Ivanovna Romanova (born Shestova). Was cousin of the last Russian Tsar of Moscow branch of the Rurik dynasty, Fyodor Ioannovich.
